MotionElements announces the launch of Apple Motion Templates in June 2013 to address the continued appeal of video templates and potential growth of the Apple Motion userbase. If you want to start a giant flamewar online, you can always count on three things: HDR, Canon vs. Nikon, Android vs. Iphone, and PC vs. Mac. Try as people may, there still seems to be this lingering mindset that there are big differences in performance/productivity/creativity in owning one versus the other. There is also a great amount of debate that circles when we switch from one to another. For the most part – I get it. We are creatures of comparison, and we love being in tribes.

In many of the financial press accounts of Apple's Q1 2013 results, the terms "disappointing" and "flat" were used to describe the company's performance. Well, as you can see in the graphic above from Statista, Apple's performance was far and away better than that of any other US company.

I found the announcement of the ProcutX iPad control surface from Pixel Film Studios interesting. It allows control of FCPX from an iPad using a simplified user interface based on “High-end film editing consoles” including a jog/shuttle wheel.

Final Cut Pro X is already a pretty great piece of software all on its own, but there might be some video gurus who wouldn't mind adding a little touch-based action to their current workflow. Here's where ProCutX comes in: the iPad app's claiming to give Mac vid editors a canvas where they can easily have access to many of FCPX's editing tools, including color grading and auto-correct, quick keywording, compound clip editing and import / export / rendering shortcuts.

Following the news that Apple is to discontinue its Mac Pro line in Europe due to new regulatory standards, Apple is reportedly prepping a new Mac Pro product for spring 2013. The news comes from Apple reseller France Systemes (via Mac4Ever & Macg.co), an Apple Authorized Reseller and Certified Education Center in France with 17 years in the business, which claimed in a recent newsletter to customers that Apple has confirmed the discontinuation of Mac Pros in the country would only be temporary.
