I take my jobs as editor and as a father very seriously, but it is also important to note that I am happy. Here are some things that I have learned over the years. I have made mistakes in every one of these rules, but I try every day to be better.

At a time when a few humorists are doing some of the most important journalistic work on TV (John Oliver and Bassem Youssef come to mind), Conan O’Brien decided, right then and there, to travel to Haiti in order to set the record straight. It wasn’t an unprecedented move—he’d previously done shows from Mexico, Israel, Armenia, and more.
What was different was the time frame.

The Colonie, the Chicago-based editorial, visual effect, motion graphics shop, has announced the promotion of Jimmy Helm to editor. Helm, an innovative and adept talent, honed his craft working with The Colonie’s senior editors on a wide range of projects over the past seven-years. Most recently, Helm has been managing ongoing social media work with Facebook, Inc. and conceptualizing and editing short format advertisements.

if you ever edited on Avid lately, you would have probably asked one question, why does Avid has no match for Premiere/FCPX in-app Audio based sync? Yes, you could in theory use Plural Eyes, but even that as a workflow is a bit off-putting. Entangle for Avid tries to solve this by allowing to select number of files in Avid, right click on them and select Synchronize from the context menu. It's as easy as that. Once you've done the synchronization, you just drag a resulting AAF file into Avid.
