If you were at NAB or IBC in 2012, you may have seen us exhibiting on the Panasonic stand to demonstrate our unique cloud based, tapeless workflow. Hopefully that was a clue that we‘d be working even more closely with Panasonic and now that we’re able to talk more openly about the partnership, here are a few more details.

In the past, video editing has always been tied to a place, the edit bay. The Moviolas and Steenbecks of film were joined by linear tape editing suites. In the days of quad and C-format, these were large and very expensive. Non-linear editing, typified by Avid, transformed the process of editing video from a linear process to non-linear, much more like film editing. Even terms like “bins” were borrowed from film.

I am back in the post production world of Assistant Editing at JOHLT Productions, a company formally known as Edelman Productions. After a half decade of working in TV advertising sales I realized my true passion was to spend the rest of my life working in the production side of the house. So, I decided to go back to what I was doing before trying to become either a freelance or full time video editor.
