Sony releases the new PDZK-LT2 plugin for FCPX

Ian Cook shared some more information on Creative Cow's forums. He states that the LT2 is a background add-on (no separate tool or workspace) and allows for native import and archiving from EX sources, including stored card images. The tool supports all the EX formats including SD and sub-clipping on import is supported with IFC and EX. According to Ian, the plugin does not support XDCAM optical Disc formats at this time.

My last post explained the 180 Degree rule. It also stated that crossing the line can disorient an audience and that directors film shots from both sides of the line. How does the editor cut from one side of the line to another and use the director's angles to tell the story without disorienting the audience?

Absolutely! If you right click in the Timeline window and choose Timeline Settings. (Project Window | Settings Tab) Go to the Edit Tab and choose the configuration you want for new sequences.

G-RAID with Thunderbolt an impressive performer

G-Technology's G-RAID with Thunderbolt is a preconfigured RAID 0 storage device that houses two 7200-rpm Hitachi drives in an all-aluminum enclosure. While it's configured as a striped RAID (RAID 0), it can be reconfigured to a mirrored RAID (RAID 1) for data protection by using the Mac OS X Disk Utility.
