    LOS ANGELES – Nominees for the 92nd Oscars (www.oscars.org) were announced this morning, covering 24 categories. Academy members from each of the 17 branches vote to determine the nominees in their respective categories. Active members of the Academy are eligible to vote for the winners in all 24 categories beginning Thursday, January 30th, through Tuesday, February 4th.

      CHICAGO — Creative production studio Flavor (www.flavor.tv) has added Rob Churchill to its Chicago staff as VFX director. According to Cutters Studios, which is a partner studio to Flavor, the announcement also involves Churchill becoming a partner in the launch of a new production venture, which will be announced in the days to come.

      WESTCHESTER, NY — Independent Foley studio Alchemy Post Sound (www.alchemypostsound.com) has elevated Ryan Collison to partner, joining founders Leslie Bloome (Foley artist) and Andrea Bloome (CEO). Part of the Alchemy team for the past six years, Collison is an Emmy Award-winning Foley mixer whose credits include The Last Days of American Crime,  The Invisible Man,  Harry Haft and  Fosse/Verdon. His promotion comes as the studio prepares to expand.
