The Colonie’s remote capabilities were tapped by The Marketing Arm for a State Farm® broadcast spot with a timely message to customers facing financial burdens during the current pandemic. With production not an option, the company edited, color graded and finished the live-action spot remotely.

‘Two Dum Micks,’ an offbeat comedic short film, written, directed, and produced by D.B. Sweeney and edited by Keith Kristinat at The Colonie - is sweeping the festival circuit with over two dozen first-place awards to date. It tells the story of Mikey and Mick, played by Sean Astin and Sweeney, two down-and-out guys who come up with an implausible jailhouse scheme to get the money they need to solve their legal problems.

VFX Legion recently signed Lead Matte Painter Marc Adamson, Head of Simulation and Dynamics Eric Ebling, and Lead Lighter Bryan Shepperd to its team. The artists bring a mix of skill-sets to the full-service Burbank-based visual effects studio, which specializes in augmenting footage for feature films and TV shows with photorealistic environments and CG imagery that would be too expensive and time-consuming to shoot live.

The season finale of CBS’s political drama ‘Madam Secretary’ aired last week, closing with Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) revealing her plans to run for president to her husband Henry (Tim Daly). VFX Legion followed up the cliffhanger with the release of a breakdown reel that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of some of the most complex and exacting photorealistic computer-generated environments created by the Los Angeles-based studio for the show’s fourth season.
