Sometimes 140 characters isn’t enough! So we’ve added this posting to answer those questions for BlackMagic’s Joshua that just don’t fit into the 140 characters that Twitter allows.
Q) I just buy the ultra studio 3D and i connect to my two camera using 2 sdi in. I plan to shoot 3D. The problem is i can not see both camera in the same time on my macbookpro. only 1 line is working. is any body have the same experience? any solution?
A) @BMD_Joshua Response Most likely reason for this is that the cameras are not frame synced. The UltraStudio 3D (and by relation the Decklink HD Extreme 3D+) have extremely tight tolerances. If they are out a little bit, it will only show the one (link A) video. So best solution is to get those cameras genlocked and framesynced and give it a go.
Q My question is why they provide 2 line in on the ultra studio 3D box.
A) @BMD_Joshua Response Several reasons. All of SDI products feature 3GB SDI which can be used for Dual Link over 1 SDI. But we have the Channel A and B for traditional Dual Link signals as well. It also serves as discreet right eye/left eye for 3D captures.
A) Yes, it is still supported. (there was a similar question about the Multibridge Pro so I think he though he had answered this)
A) Follow up: Smoke is a “not currently” case, and Sony Vegas compatibility has worked, but official certification and testing is occurring on the Vegas team’s end.
Q) @thecrankyeditor Any chance of older bmd cards having rgb support added? #PostChat -9:58 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) @BMD_Joshua @thecrankyeditor Currently we only support RGB in the Dual Link SDI formats. #PostChat -10:0 PM Feb 22nd, 2012

Q) @verticalonline @BMD_Joshua I’ve been testing roundtrip via XML from #FCPX to Resolve (R3D) and it’s working great. #postchat -9:49 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) @bosfcpug @BMD_Joshua @verticalonline Don’t forget to go to the SuperMeet at NAB on April 17th. BMD is giving away a Control Surface!

A) @BMD_Joshua @ejm634 Smoke, no. We are not currently permitted to. Vegas works, but testing is entirely in the Vegas teams hands. #PostChat -9:40 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) @Dr0id @BMD_Joshua has #fcpx impacted your products in any way? #PostChat -9:34 PM Feb 22nd, 2012

Q) @samdogdigital @BMD_Joshua Would Multibridge Eclipse work with MC6 with the PCIe card that came with it? #postchat -9:28 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) @samdogdigital Is a Multibridge Eclipse circa 2006 still supported? #postchat -9:26 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) @BMD_Joshua @samdogdigital Yes it should. All of our boards work on the same underlying architecture. #PostChat -9:29 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q)splice_vine @BMD_Joshua Could a Thunderbolt compatible Pocket UltraScope be on the horizon this year? #postchat -9:19 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @splice_vine Well, obviously I can’t talk about upcoming product. But i’ll just say, that we love our ultrascopes. #PostChat -9:20 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) @DylanReeve I keep meaning to find out what @MediaComposer 6 does when I put an BMD DeckLink in the system as well as Nitris DX hardware #postchat -9:17 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @DylanReeve I imagine the problem would be due to 3rd party cards use Avid open I/O and Avid hooks directly in. #PostChat -9:19 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) chicagoaviduser Looking to use Resolve on my Mac Avid that has DX Hardware. Can I use a BM Card for Resolve or will they conflict? #PostChat -9:16 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @chicagoaviduser Not sure if they will conflict, but our drivers should not cause any issue. #PostChat -9:17 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) samdogdigital What’s easiest route from MC6 to Resolve? Is MXO2 supported? #postchat -9:15 PM Feb 22nd, 2012

Q) samdogdigital I’m using 2010 MacPro 12-core with ATI 5770. Any issues using Resolve? #postchat -9:10 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A)@samdogdigital That should be fine, though the GPU acceleration is still better with nVidia GPU’s #PostChat -9:12 PM Feb 22nd, 201
Q) DylanReeve @bmd_joshua @terryking_ Any chance of spinning disk support for DNxHD recording in HyperDeck Studio? #postchat -9:09 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A)BMD_Joshua @DylanReeve At this time, no because the drives actually use a slightly different instruction set than the SSD’s #PostChat -9:11 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) comebackshane .@frankjonen Does it have features that makes it work well without that the normal Resolve doesn’t require? #postchat -9:08 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) comebackshane Does Resolve Lite work well without a control surface? Or do you need one in order to get about reasonably well? #postchat -9:07 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @comebackshane Yes, it works well. We are always working to improve this experience. #PostChat -9:09 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @comebackshane we’d love to get other manufacturers to plug into our software. Maybe in the future it can be done more indirectly #PostChat -9:15
A)DylanReeve @comebackshane I was using Resolve Lite without a surface. Pretty usable (no less so than Color) #postchat -9:09 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) @terryking_ @BMD_Joshua Hi Josh, are there any other BMD approved 64gb SSD’s for the V1 of the Hyperdeck beside the Kingston branded one? #postchat -9:05 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @terryking_ That one is a harder one as the smaller SSD’s don’t typically have enough memory on them to suport the speeds we need #PostChat -9:07 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q)ejm634 @BMD_Joshua What would you say the future of BMD is with the rumors about Mac Pro going away? -9:03 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) @ejm634 do you mean MacPro’s or Apple professional products? #PostChat -9:05 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
A) BMD_Joshua @ejm634 Our products are compatible with Mac and PC, as well as having USB3 and Thunderbolt, so that shouldn’t be a problem. #PostChat -9:15 PM Feb 22nd, 2012
Q) @BMD_Joshua Welcome! Would you mind briefly telling us a bit about BlackMagic, for those who don’t currently know? #PostChat -9:03 PM Feb 22nd,
