It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.
Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.
We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.
Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.
Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

The Mac Pro redesign of 2019 was one of the biggest overhauls of an Apple product since — well, ever. Nothing was left untouched, from the exterior design to the internal components. Yet nothing made Mac enthusiasts salivate more than Apple’s promise of extensive modularity.#mac pro#apple#modularity

As some know or have figured out, the MacPro lacks PCIe expandability on its own, but with a little help from Sonnet, one can have the ability to connect up to three (3) PCIe cards in this convenient 4-space, rack mount, Thunderbolt 2 enclosure that has its own 300w power supply.#editing#mac pro#post production#hardware#computers#rackmount

Following the news that Apple is to discontinue its Mac Pro line in Europe due to new regulatory standards, Apple is reportedly prepping a new Mac Pro product for spring 2013. The news comes from Apple reseller France Systemes (via Mac4Ever & Macg.co), an Apple Authorized Reseller and Certified Education Center in France with 17 years in the business, which claimed in a recent newsletter to customers that Apple has confirmed the discontinuation of Mac Pros in the country would only be temporary.#mac pro#apple

Oh where, oh where is Apple’s “Pro” line of products going? Okay, I admit the words don’t work as well with the song as the actual lyrics, but it’s still a fair enough question to ask. There’s speculation that Apple is slowly but surely consolidating its professional products line with its consumer one — in terms of both software and hardware — but whatever the reason for the delay, the fact is that the Mac Pro has been ‘on hiatus’ for two years at this point.#resolve#cs6#mac pro#premiere pro#nle#imac
