Why Pro Tools Subscriptions Are Good News For Everyone

Last month Avid announced its 4th quarter and financial results. It’s not something we often report on here at Pro Tools Expert but one stat jumped out at us, that there was a 54.9% year over year growth in subscription revenue growth in the fourth quarter.

Autodesk Takes a Dump - Big Maint. Increases Await

By 2019 the cumulative price of a maintenance plan will reach almost 40% increase – but they are offering an option to switch from maintenance to subscription at up to 60% less. Which seems clear to me that they are trying to price users out of the maintenance plan.
