Who are we?
Who are we? We are a group of industry professionals who saw the film community's need for a comprehensive resource of techniques, tips, ideas and links for other Editors. The Art of the Guillotine encourages the interaction of all visitors to build a resource for ideas and inspiration. We extend an invitation to film editors worldwide to give us your input and feedback; what would you like to see on AOTG, help us build our community! We can't wait for you to join us in this on-going project!
Founder: Gordon A. Burkell
Gordon has worked in the film industry and as a film editor for 10 years. He started Art of the Guillotine to help build a community for editors and to create a vehicle to help editors and film academics share their knowledge and expertise to improve the art form. He currently lives in Toronto, Canada where he edits and teaches film editing at Ryerson University.

Our goal is to build a unique online community that connects film editors and film academics worldwide. We endeavor to provide a resource for techniques, tricks and tips available to everyone. Everyone can add to the site and everyone can experience the shared knowledge of its visitors.
