To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell

Izotope, makers of the RX audio tools, has introduced Neutron 3, a plug-in that — thanks to advances in machine learning — listens to the entire session and communicates with every track in the mix. Mixers can use Neutron 3’s new Mix Assistant to create a balanced starting point for an initial-level mix built around their chosen focus, Continue reading → June 6, 2019 The post Izotope’s Neutron 3 streamlines mix workflows with machine learning appeared first on postPerspective.

By Barry Goch In addition to introducing the new MacPro and the Pro Display XDR, during Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC19), Apple has some pretty cool demos. The coolest, in my mind, was the Minecraft Augmented Reality presentation. Across the street from the San Jose Convention Center, Continue reading → June 6, 2019 The post Apple offers augmented reality with Reality Composer appeared first on postPerspective.

When Apple announced its new Pro Display XDR, an affordable desktop monitor with high-quality HDR capabilities, earlier this week, there was one glaring problem — it didn’t share many of the “pro” capabilities of its broadcast-grade competition, such as SDI input and on-screen scopes. But Blackmagic Design says it’s got that covered The new Teranex […] The post Blackmagic Caters to Apple Pro Display XDR with New Teranex Mini Converter appeared first on Studio Daily.

Last Friday we released Builder 2.0, but we only sent out the press release today. Builder 2.0 works with FCP X XML as it always has, plus Premiere Pro XML from now on. Those who have followed Lumberjack, or my writing about it, from the start, this will seem like a major departure for a […]

Update on Kollaborate 3.0

http://www.digitalrebellion.com/blog/posts/update_...

At NAB this year we unveiled a preview of Kollaborate 3.0 with a planned May release. Unfortunately, due to events beyond our control, we weren't able to meet this release deadline. The issue revolves around the speech-to-text technology we are using to transcribe videos. We are dependent upon a third-party for our speech models and while the model we showed at NAB was great for demoing, it wasn't production-ready and we were depending on a newer model being ready in order for us to ship t...

Thoughts on the 2019 Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR

June 4, 2019, 06:45 AM

http://www.digitalrebellion.com/blog/posts/thought...

Today Apple unveiled the new Mac Pro, which is an attempt to woo understandably wary and skeptical creative pros. Here are my initial thoughts. Mac Pro From the outside it looks a lot like the old “cheesegrater” Mac Pros. It’s interesting to me that Apple chose to go back to an old design rather than attempting to push the envelope like they tried with the “trashcan” Mac Pro. But as many people preferred the older design this is certainly no bad thing. While I wouldn’t describ...
