To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

Blackmagic Design has today announced that the Austrian Film Archive, located in Vienna, has expanded its abilities to scan high resolution 4K masters and digital ready cinema packages with the installation of a Blackmagic Cintel Film Scanner.

Film Factory Installs Cintel Film Scanner

Blackmagic Design today announced that Paris post production company Film Factory, which has been working in professional film development and processing for more than 20 years, is now using the Blackmagic Design Cintel Film Scanner for both its dailies and final film scanning workflows.

Blackmagic Design today announced that Goldcrest Post London used DaVinci Resolve Studio to complete the edit, color grade and HDR finishing for Universal Pictures’ “Jason Bourne,” in which Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role. The film is currently in cinemas.

Blackmagic Design today announced that NahidRains Pictures, a production and postproduction company based in Chittagong, Bangladesh, is producing programs with Blackmagic Design’s URSA, Production Camera 4Ks, Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Pocket Cinema Cameras and DaVinci Resolve Studio for BTV Chittagong, a television channel affiliated to Bangladesh’s largest television network Bangladesh Television (BTV).

Blackmagic Design today announced that URSA Mini 4.6K digital film camera was used to shoot the music video for Aaron Carter’s new hit single “Fool’s Gold.” DaVinci Resolve Studio was also used to grade the music video by Colorist Robert Crosby at L.A.-based post production studio Coyote Post.

Blackmagic Design today announced that DP Xavier Grobet used several Pocket Cinema Cameras to shoot select scenes for Paramount Pictures’ comedy “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” Grobet required a small form factor camera that delivered cinematic images for the film’s in-vehicle shots and several actions scenes.

Blackmagic Design announced today that the 2016 SXSW debut film “The Arbalest” was shot using a Blackmagic Cinema Camera. Captured by director Adam Pinney and DP Hugh Braselton, the film was also color graded with DaVinci Resolve 12 Studio by colorist David Torcivia.
