To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell

Medium - Sky Replacements

http://www.blackmagicuser.net/topic/260-medium-sky...

In this tutorial, Josh Petok shows you how to do sky replacements in DaVinci Resolve. In the past, this was a cumbersome task that either sent you into a compositing application or took several nodes to accomplish. With only 4 nodes, I'll show you how to add a new element into the sky of your shots. You'll be able to add sun, moon or clouds to your skies.

OCZ Vector 256GB SSD Review

November 27, 2012, 03:02 PM

http://www.techspot.com/review/609-ocz-vector-ssd/

Earlier this year we reviewed OCZ's flagship Vertex 4 SSD which at the time we were lead to believe was based on a second-generation Everest controller developed in-house. Having acquired IP and assets from Solid Data in 2010 to expand OCZ's controller and interface portfolio, followed by the acquisition of Indilinx, maker of the renowned Barefoot SSD controller, OCZ was in a good position to start working on their own controllers.

Gearing up for Blackmagic with SSD dock

One of the nice things about the Blackmagic Cinema Camera taking forever to ship is that it's allowed me time to slowly acquire the additional tech that this beast requires to run. The big one, of course, is SSD drives.

Introducing Track Matte Moment Podcast

November 27, 2012, 07:59 AM

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/EditingWhiz/~3/A8FH...

It's that moment when you realize your workflow sucks. That instance when you look at your comp and realize you went about it all wrong. The epiphany when you realize you should have said something different in a production meeting. A Track Matte Moment is that moment of post-project regret when it hits you that...
