To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell
Aotg.com Founder

It seems that the screen caps posted the last couple of days by user MortGoldman2 on TwitPic were the real thing; they've been taken down and AppleInsider received a cease and desist letter from Ripple Training Inc., the company from whom the screen shots were either stolen or "acquired."

A report from Macotakara, a Japanese weblog, (thanks to MacRumors) suggests that Apple is going to release the next generation of Final Cut Pro sometime next week (the week of June 20th). While the blog didn't mention a specific day of the week, I am going to assume Tuesday. That seems to be Apple's product ...

A Few Recent iOS Apps for Post-Production

There have been a couple of iOS apps introduced recently that might be of interest to those working in post. One aims to control your NLE as you kick back on the couch for viewing a cut, one is an update to an ever useful timecode calculator and one is a rather specialized color grading tool. There can probably never be enough iOS apps for post, so I welcome them all, especially the useful ones.

Recently I have been tied up working on a documentary. It has me working into the early hours trying to meet TIFF's deadline for screening. One night while working I heard this fantastic song being played over and over. So I peaked over to Studio B and met with the guys from FutreSpeak. These talented [...]

Many Final Cut Pro X Screenshots Leaked

June 14, 2011, 03:40 PM

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/FinalCutWhiz/~3/IJb...

An explosion of screenshots were leaked recently thanks to MortGoldman2 on Twitter.I'm not sure why, but his account has yet to be removed by Apple. As you might have recalled, last time a Twitter user shared leaked images, the account was banned. I don't want to repost the image on this site for a couple ...
