LOS ANGELES -- The Society of Motion Picture Film Editors was formed back in 1937, initially with 571 men and women. Today, membership of the Local 700 is over 7,300 and includes additional post professionals such as film/video lab technicians, re-recording mixers, maintenance engineers, and studio projectionists.
