The film Carol, is set in 1950s New York, and focuses on two women, one a young department store clerk, named Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara), and the other, an alluring woman trapped in a loveless, convenient marriage named Carol (Cate Blanchett). An immediate connection sparks between them.
