It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

More than 55 Fall TV Shows Use Blackmagic Design

Blackmagic Design today announced that the company’s production and post products were used to complete many of the fall 2018 season’s new and returning television shows and streaming series. More than 55 shows rely on Blackmagic Design’s digital film cameras; Fusion visual effects (VFX), compositing, 3D and motion graphics software; and DaVinci Resolve editing, color correction, VFX and digital audio software; as well as its switchers, routers, monitors and capture and playback devices.

Blackmagic Design today announced that DP Eric Koretz used a Micro Studio Camera 4K and Video Assist 4Kmonitor/recorder while shooting the new film “Siberia.” Koretz also used DaVinci Resolve Studio and a DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel on set to develop various looks while shooting.

Blackmagic Design announced today that Japanese post house Incolor installed DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel and DaVinci Resolve Studio. Incolor, founded in 2015 by prominent photographer Shoji Uchida, specializes in remote grading by foreign colorists for commercials and music videos.

India’s RengeDragon Studio Uses DaVinci Resolve

Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve 15 was used to color grade 63 commercials in one month with the help of DaVinci Resolve 15’s collaboration workflow by RengeDragon Studio, an Indian boutique studio. As part of the 63 commercials, RengeDragon used DaVinci Resolve 15, along with DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel, for color grading the new Vaseline Sun & Pollution Protection commercial campaign.

Department of Post Uses DaVinci Resolve 15 for HDR

Blackmagic Design today announced that New Zealand’s Department of Post is using DaVinci Resolve 15 as part of their HDR and non-HDR work with a number of film, commercial and television productions. This included color correction, conform and VFX work for a number of different projects, including the popular TV show “Cul De Sac.”
