It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

COLORSPACE 4K HDR Vehicle Uses DaVince Resolve

Blackmagic Design announced today that Picture Block used DaVinci Resolve Studio and DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel to provide HDR color correction and editing as part of the new COLORSPACE 4K HDR screening room vehicle. COLORSPACE also includes a 12G and 4K workflow using a number of other Blackmagic Design products.

At this year’s Los Angeles VidCon, Blackmagic Design will be offering free hands on training for its DaVinci Resolve Studio post production software at Booth 1400. VidCon attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with popular YouTubers Bri Heart and Jervy Hou at the Blackmagic Design booth to hear how they created their newest video using DaVinci Resolve Studio and Blackmagic Design cameras.

Duplitech Relies on Cintel for HDR Film Scanning

Blackmagic Design today announced that Duplitech, one of L.A.’s most respected independent media service labs, is using a host of Blackmagic Design gear, including Cintel Scanner 2 for high dynamic range (HDR) film scanning. Duplitech found that Cintel Scanner 2 performs exceptionally well on 16mm film, having recently worked with the element while onboarding the “Blondie” television series from the 1950s.

Blackmagic Design today announced that South Korea based independent record label Areia Creations shot its latest music videos for the artists Musky and Ferry with a combination of Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and URSA Mini Pro cameras using Blackmagic RAW codec. The videos were then edited and graded using Davinci Resolve Studio with a DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel.

Blackmagic Design announced today that TBS SPARKLE, Inc. has installed a Cintel Scanner and DaVinci Resolve Studio to digitize a huge amount of 16mm footage from 1955 to the 1980s.
