We've seen several updates last year making DaVinci Resolve lite (free) ever more user friendly and more accessible to users using semi professional hardware like Apple laptop computers and Blackmagic's low priced Cinema Camera.

Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve 9 has seen a number of updates since its release over the summer, and even though many have been waiting for the full version that comes with their Blackmagic Cinema Camera, the free version, DaVinci Resolve Lite, is almost exactly the same , with just a few limitations in terms of nodes and resolutions. Software Update – DaVinci Resolve 9.1

Blackmagic Design has announced a major release of DaVinci Resolve 9.1. The update enables customers to use Resolve with Apple’s Macbook Retina technology. DaVinci Resolve will be able to run on the 15” Retina MacBook Pro at the best image quality setting.
