At Apple’s online event last week, the company announced that the brand new Apple TV 4K (2021) boxes can automatically set the color balance of your 4K monitor. It does this with the help of an iPhone with Face ID running iOS 14.5 or greater. This capability is available for Apple TV 4K models (1st generation and later) and Apple TV HD running tvOS 14.5 or greater.

Recently we had the opportunity to talk at length with Colorist Juan Cabrera, ASC Associate Member. Juan provided some incredibly valuable insights on his journey and on the art of being a colorist for major motion pictures and television. Juan also shed some light on how everyone at all levels of the production workflow can benefit from learning that the journey from beginning to the end really begins in pre production.
