However, with the growth of Audio Over IP using Dante or AVB and control surfaces connected via your network using protocols like EuControl we may be using technology that we may not fully understand. In this article, we aim to explain, as simply as possible, tips you can implement to reduce problems with trying to get too much data reliably across your office or home network.

With the introduction of Dolby Atmos into Pro Tools, Avid developed various features, which extends the fold-down option for going down from 7.1 to 5.1 to stereo and takes it one stage further for Dolby Atmos, handling objects, so that you can continue to work on Atmos Sessions in Pro Tools without needing a Dolby Atmos Renderer.

With the introduction of Audio to MIDI in Pro Tools the divide between MIDI and audio isn’t as sharp as it once was and Pro Tools users who had previously spent their time mostly, or even exclusively, dealing with audio only projects are finding MIDI and software synthesizers more and more useful.

In this article, community member Christopher Testa shares his recent transition from Pro Tools Atmos running on an HD Native card using the Dolby Audio Bridge, to a Dolby Atmos HDX Hybrid Engine system, in which he uses Dante instead of the Dolby Audio Bridge so that he can continue to use HDX and DSP plugins to mix whilst also running Dolby Atmos Production Suite on the same computer as Pro Tools Ultimate. In this article, we explain how to export a Pro Tools friendly AAF from Adobe Premiere Pro. Although the basic process is relatively simple, there are some complications if the video editor has used nested clips and sequences, merged clips or you need to get the metadata from the files into Pro Tools to use with the Field Recorder Workflow.
