Can iMac 5K Retina Drive external 4K Monitor

The iMac with Retina 5K Display specifications page states it "simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840 by 2160 pixels on an external display." We decided to see how well it handled a 4K external display. PowerMax gave us access to a high quality IGZO 4K display, the ASUS PQ321Q 31.5".
