Dan Lebental, TouchEdit and the Cutting Room

May 16, 2013, 09:00 AM

Dan Lebental brings us TouchEdit, which is a new approach to what iMovie, Vimeo, etc. have been attempting to do. He's created a frame accurate, professional app for film editors. The goal, as he says in this interview is not to replace the editing NLE but to make this a tool in your toolbox. If you are called to set, or have to be there, utilize this app, get a sense of the scene cut roughly, then bring it into your NLE and continue editing. If you want to learn more, go to, follow them on Twitter or go to their Facebook page.

Dan Lebental is renowned for his work on Iron Man 1 and 2, Cowboys and Aliens and of course Elf. Now he brings the editing room to the iPad with TouchEdit, a professional editing app that has become an important part of his editing experience.
