VFX Legion recently signed Lead Matte Painter Marc Adamson, Head of Simulation and Dynamics Eric Ebling, and Lead Lighter Bryan Shepperd to its team. The artists bring a mix of skill-sets to the full-service Burbank-based visual effects studio, which specializes in augmenting footage for feature films and TV shows with photorealistic environments and CG imagery that would be too expensive and time-consuming to shoot live.

Since joining the company, Marc Adamson has been the studio’s go-to lead matte painter, lending his talents to crafting photo-realistic environments for a mix of television shows that includes the upcoming seasons of ‘Madam Secretary,’ and ‘How to Get Away with Murder.’  An alumnus of Framestore, Method, and Prime Focus, Adamson honed his skills on a long list of feature films such as ‘Avengers Age of Ultron,’ ‘Captain America,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ ‘Dracula Untold,’ and ‘Dredd.’

Signed on to head up VFX Legion’s Simulation & Dynamics department, Eric Ebling has been honing his craft for over two decades, creating VFX or high-profile films, such as ‘G.I. Joe Retaliation,’ ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,’ ‘Fast & Furious’ and ‘Van Helsing’ during stints at various studios, including Digital Domain, Method, Zoic Studios, and Hydraulx. His work in the commercial arena garnered a Silver Clio and VES nod for the Nike spot, ‘Biomorph.’ Currently, he's is working with the studio’s team on The CW series, ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ and CBS’s political drama, ‘Madam Secretary.’

Bryan Shepperd has been brought onboard at VFX Legion as lead lighter. Over the years, contributed his talents to creating effects for hundreds of episodes of television shows, such as ‘Prison Break,’ ‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘CSI: Miami,’ ‘Cold Case’ and ‘Chuck, to name a few.  Skilled at crafting 3D lighting and striking an aesthetic balance that enhances the look and texture of atmospheres, Shepperd's talents have been tapped by a variety of studios, including Furious FX and Zoic Studios.

“The addition of Marc, Eric, and Bryan to VFX Legion’s collective of over 70 artists increases our studio’s flexibility and efficiency, enabling us to take on more projects and turn around a larger quantity of complex, high-quality visual effects that enhance visual stories, while meeting tight deadlines,” says Hattin. “The signings continue to leverage our growing roster of experienced talent with the accessibility and level of service that our Burbank studio brings to Hollywood-based films and episodic television shows.”
