For writer/director Bryan Buckley, it was time to do something different. A commercial director and co-founder of the production company Hungry Man, Buckley has put Martin Scorsese and Suri together in the back of cab for Apple, Ellen DeGeneres together with a motley crew of wild and barnyard animals for American Express, and some 40 spots into that precious airtime during the Super Bowl. But his latest work, "Asad," a narrative short film about the struggles of a young Somali refugee...#color#colour#colorist#chris ryan#asad

This is the sort of question that vexes film and TV people because we're torn between two things: the need to follow conventions, so that the audience can follow what's going on, and the desire to be original. We can't bring you every showreel that we see here at RedShark. Many of them are amazing but, honestly, that's what YouTube is for. But what we do like to do is bring you clips that illustrate a point that we think is important, and this one does it nicely.#grading#color#colour#showreel#redshark

Avid Media Composer 6.5 has a number of new features that it shares with Avid’s step-up in terms of colour management, Symphony 6.5. The new features are mainly situated in the domain of audio support, better file relinking management, codec support, and advanced features. But I was mainly interested in Symphony 6.5 because of its colour editing capabilities.#avid#nle#color#colour#symphony

How often do people really take the time to explain the real basics? With stuff like colour correction, while you can and should rely on your eyes and a good, colour-calibrated monitoring system, you also need to make sure that your graded output is technically OK, or it might be rejected by your client...#colour#correction
