To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell

I’ve missed ProRes. I’m used to jumping between Mac and Windows, and I often say that once I’m in Adobe-land I can’t tell the difference. But a few months ago I switched to Windows permanently and the thing I miss most is ProRes. Last week on the ProVideo Coalition Facebook page, a PVC reader posted The post Windows ProRes: first impression appeared first on ProVideo Coalition.

Now the fun begins. This is where your mind gets blown. Last year I attended an international conference for film teachers called CILECT, at Columbia College in Chicago. A speaker, whose name I wasn’t able to find in time for this webinar, shared this video with me, and my jaw hit the floor. What you’re about to watch in action is a computer program that can ingest movies, and create the author of this program calls a movie fingerprint. This project, called Cinemetrics, is a bachelor’...

EditStock will be at the forefront of this change. We’ll come back to what EditStock is specifically going to do later, but first let’s discuss what I mean by big data.More

Notice of planned Kollaborate maintenance - Feb 11

February 1, 2017, 02:04 PM

http://www.digitalrebellion.com/blog/posts/notice_...

We're going to be conducting some maintenance on our Kollaborate cloud platform the weekend of February 11th-12th, starting at 9am Pacific time on Saturday and ending before 8pm Pacific on Sunday. This is just a window - we actually expect the downtime to just be 2-3 hours on Saturday morning, but the extended window gives us time in case things turn out to be more complicated or time-consuming than initially planned. This upgrade should improve the speed of the site, in addition to deliv...
