To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell

https://postperspective.com/grade-for-disney-film-...

Before principal photography began on the Disney+ period drama Togo, the film’s director and cinematographer, Ericson Core, asked Company 3 senior colorist Siggy Ferstl to help design a visual approach for the color grade that would give the 1920s-era drama a unique look. Based on a true story, Togo is named for the lead sled dog on Leonhard Seppala’s (Willem Dafoe) team and tells the story of their life-and-death relay through Alaska’s tundra to deliver diphtheria antitoxin to the des...

Scott at Consordini Musical Instruments gives a thorough review of iZotope RX. He uses it as a mix engineer. It’s great to get rid of room tone, or if you’re recording on site or without a recording studio. He also uses it for video work, which I know is what many of you do for a living. He gives an incredibly deep review that covers the features in RX 7.

With big names such as Panasonic and Ross Video pulling out of the show just last week, the cancellation of IBC Show 2020 in physical form was expected. The IBC team, along with brands and manufacturers will now be working hard to develop a virtual conference and expo, we should still see the news in the form of IBC Daily (an industry magazine, now digital) too.

A minor update to Premiere adds ProRes RAW

We woke up this morning to a minor update to Adobe Premiere Pro. Native support for ProRes RAW in both Premiere and Media Encoder is the big feature update of note. I think many wondered if Apple was holding ProRes RAW back from Adobe and other NLE makers but I guess not. At least not from Adobe. This makes Adobe Premiere Pro the first NLE to support both ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW.
