To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell

Working with Red RAW files in Final Cut Pro X

The 10.0.6 update to FCPX was huge. One of the new features was the ability to ingest and handle RAW files from the RED range of cameras. Our normal duo get very excited showing how easy this has become in Final Cut Pro X.

(In German) The film tells Sieveking from the care of his mother suffering from Alzheimer's Gretel. The change and the progression of the disease pose enormous challenges for the family and as well as simmering conflicts come to the surface. Just under the strain but they are together again. David Sieveking comes closer to his parents, and experience from the past, while his mother loses her memory.

Apple's share price drops to be followed by surge

November 12, 2012, 09:41 AM

http://9to5mac.com/2012/11/12/report-drops-in-appl...

In October, Apple stock dropped below 600 for the first time since July. Since then, following a number of new product launches, AAPL has continued to fall and now only sits slightly higher than last week at roughly 550 per share and a market cap of USD518 billion. While many have pointed to uncertainty regarding new product launches and executive level changes as the cause of Apple’s falling share price, no one quite has a definitive answer for why AAPL has hit a nearly six-month low...

The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

"Ok, I'm drawing a line in the fucking sand. Do NOT read the Latin!" — Marty. A history of violence writ in blood. Millennia of human cruelty billow out into a quiet void: torture, murder, ritual sacrifice, untold suffering, fresh coffee... Huh? The images of savage protocol and hematic ceremony are jarringly replaced by an all too familiar scene: a hot cuppa joe and the morning commute of two government employees.

There are a number of ways to generate the Matrix text effect, and reflex dictates a list. Several tutorials have been done using particles with Particle Playground and CC Particle World, and other built-in and 3rd-party tools.

Dailies and 'looks' in digital movie-making

November 12, 2012, 05:02 AM

http://neilsadwelkar.blogspot.ca/2012/11/video-ass...

I keep calling them movies, not films, and movie-making, not film-making because some new movies in India are being shot on digital mediums - Canon HDSLRs, Red, Alexa, Sony and others. No film used, means new methods, new workflows. The concept of 'video assist' and 'dailies', too assume a somewhat different approach.
