To The Aotg.com Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will no longer be updating Aotg.com. Back in 2007, when we started, there was a lack of access to information about film, television, and commercial editing. We wanted to fix that by creating a central location for content about editing to be stored.

Since then, we've watched the amount of content about editing on the internet grow exponentially. We've also watched social media tools come and go with that growth. Does anyone remember Google Wave!? These social media tools changed how people access and search for media and information. People tend to turn to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram for their news and information, and those are all great tools to promote your sites, but as a site that aggregates links to other sites for users, it just doesn't work for us.

We will keep the site live but archive the ability to add links and comments. We will keep our database live with the links for those who desire to use it to search for editing information and research.

Our podcast, The Cutting Room, will move over to the Filmmakeru.com website and will continue to be a place for interviews with editors and other film professionals.

Everyone who worked for Aotg.com loved what we created and are proud that we could help so many editors find content that spoke to them.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the various post events worldwide in the coming years!

Yours truly,
Gordon Burkell

In Review: AJA Ki Pro Mini

AJA is now shipping the Ki Pro Mini, a major step forward in the company’s line of direct-from-camera acquisition products. First came the I/O HD, a product I reviewed at its introduction some four years ago. At that point, its ability to transcode any input into ProRes was revolutionary but I remarked what was needed was some way to make it portable and record on the fly. Well, two years later came the KiPro, a product which remains a hot item.

This video, and the two that follow it, compose our Introduction to Adobe CS5.5 workshop. We’re calling it a workshop because it’s presented as a series of interviews conducted over Skype in a talk-show styled format. Basically, it’s an introduction to the Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium software package, from three points of view

These ranged from dress makers at work on the Queen's robes to the arrival of Commonwealth and Empire troops who would be in the parade. Decorations were going up everywhere and souvenirs of everything were available [...]

The latest Final Cut Pro X Prediction

June 3, 2011, 09:17 AM

http://notesonvideo.blogspot.com/2011/06/latest-fi...

I've been trying to decide whether Apple will release - or even show - Final Cut Pro X at the World Wide Developers Conference next week. I'm starting to think that they may do neither; it's not like the World Wide Developers Conference is a huge video editors event. It just seems the wrong location to roll it out. Which suggests that they may roll it out a week or two after the WWDC at the earliest.
